Thoughts from a Rambling Redhead
So Much in Ruth
Just finished reading the Book of Ruth and oh my! There is just so much there. I look things up in LOGOS all the time, but I also use CHAT-AI because it outlines things for me. At any rate, before I did a deeper dive, I read this phrase and thought it was so powerful: Concerning the Book of Ruth, “God turns broken beginnings into beautiful endings”. Our God sees what we cannot. What seems so tragic and heartbreaking to us (and maybe it is) is not the whole picture; God sees the whole picture! He’s molding and shaping us. I’m sure Naomi was heartbroken many times over…moving away from family to a forbidden land, losing her husband and sons, losing a daughter-in-law. As a matter of fact, she chose to be called Mara (bitter) because she was deflated. But then there’s Ruth. I’m convinced that everyone needs a Ruth in their life! Ruth is my favorite book in the Bible, and I can say so much about her, but that will have to wait. The Book of Ruth starts out so sad and really hopeless, but it ends with joy (baby). The book starts with famine, loss, and grief, but it ends with marriage, birth, and legacy. God turned the broken beginning into a beautiful ending.
